Who We Are

 

Changes Recovery Counseling LLC is an independently owned and operated counseling agency that specializes in substance abuse treatment services, mental health treatment, medication management, anger management and recovery services.  All services can be tailored to meet the need of the client. We provide substance abuse counseling by state licensed and experienced counselors. Substance Abuse services available include group, individual and assessment services. Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient services are available. We can also accommodate in house mental health services that includes assessment, individual and group therapy and medication management. We are nationally certified to provide anger management services that includes classes as well as corporate and individual services. Our purpose is to offer more comprehensive services that enrich the lives of individuals in our community.  We provide sober living services and impulse control classes.

Our Staff

 Founder April Basile BA,MS, LADC,QMHA,CAMSII 

I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Pittsburgh in 2007 with a specialization in social science, psychology and sociology. I earned a Master of Science Degree in Law and Public Policy from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012. Professional experience included mental health, behavior management, psychosocial rehabilitation and substance abuse counseling.

  Jaclyn Sutton-Rangel BA, MS, CADC, CADC-S, CAMS II, CPC-Intern 

 I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from UNLV with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Human Services. I earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Intern Supervisor in the state of Nevada with over twelve years of experience in addictions. I am a Nationally Certified Anger Management Specialist II (CAMS II) and a Clinical Professional Counselor Intern (CPC-Intern) in the state of Nevada, with professional experience in working with children, juveniles and adults. I am able to provide individual and group therapy sessions.  My overall goal is to assist individuals to reach their fullest potential to lead productive lives.  


Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor: Taylor Gordon CADC-I

I obtained my Associates Degree in Human Services at Great Basin College and am currently attending the University of California Pennsylvania with the end goal of serving others who struggle with addictions. I have had the opportunity of completing my training and internship within the Pahrump community under the supervision of Changes Recovery Counseling. My ultimate goal is to help others become more whole, healed, and happy versions of themselves.


Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor: Blaise Schafer CADC-I

I have over 5 years of working in the addiction field helping others. I am currently studying to obtain my degree in Social Work. My overall goal is to be a positive agent in change in the lives of all whom I come into contact.


Sober Living House Manager: Amber Balmer 

  

I am a mother of 2 that loves unicorns, horses, glitter and life. I have been in recovery for 6 years. If I didn’t have someone to help me out of active addiction, then I wouldn’t be where I am today in my recovery and loving life. My passion and hope is to be there to help others on their journey out of active addiction and into a beautiful life in recovery.


Sober Living House Manager: Heather Lane

  

I am currently working toward my degree in Human Services through Southern New Hampshire University. I have fought my own battle with addiction, and as a result, I have found my passion for helping others and supporting them along their path to recovery. My main goal is to help others break free from living in active addiction. My hope in sharing my own story is that I might inspire others, be living proof that recovery is possible at any age, and show that it is never too late to make a change and to create the life you want.


Director: Shannon Alsdorf CAMS I, CCIS I

  

I have over fifteen years of management experience. I am a Nationally Certified Anger Management Specialist I (CAMS I) and Certified Crisis Intervention Specialist I (CCIS I). I oversee the daily operations of the counseling office and sober living units. My position is to assure Changes Recovery Counseling staff have the means and training to assist individuals in learning new healthy habits to begin/continue their journey of sobriety. Ensuring our clients are given every opportunity to successfully complete the program and move forward and live productive meaningful lives. 


Mental Health Therapist: Greta Wagner LMFT

I earned a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Holy Names University. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both California and Nevada. I have worked as a Psychotherapist for over 13 years, 8 of those years in Pahrump. I aim to create a warm, empathic, safe space, where my client's feel seen, heard, and understood. I tailor treatment to meet my client's individual needs and goals and work with them to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I am committed to my client's well-being and look forward to fostering healing and growth during our time together.

Anger Management Classes

 We offer court clients a full set of 26 weeks of anger management classes to be held once weekly in one-hour increments. 

Individual Tailoring

 We offer individual sessions that can be tailored to specific problems.
